五. 新托福考试形式及内容 (TOEFL iBT Listening Materials )
l 出题形式(Test Formats):
u 共六篇听力材料,平均每篇600字左右;
u 两篇:长对话(conversations); 四篇:课堂演讲(lectures)
u 取消旧托福的短对话题型,加长了段子题,增加了信息量。
l 听力题材 (Listening materials)
1.长对话内容(三种):There are three types of conversations in TOEFL:
1) professor’s Office Hours.
对话人物为教授与学生。
对话地点在教授办公室。
对话内容为学术讨论话题或询问课程等问题。
EG:教授解释讲座内容或考试题目(学术讨论)
学生要求延期交论文(非学术讨论)
2) Service encounters
对话人物为学生和校园工作人员。
对话地点在校园某行政办公室。
对话内容为非学术的咨询。
EG:询问房租,如何注册、选课、找兼职工作等。
3) Student interactions.
对话人物为学生甲乙。
对话地点为教室外相遇。
对话内容可为学术讨论和非学术讨论。
EG:学术讨论话题为谈论课堂知识、选课、作业、考试、论文等;非学术讨论话题为实习、打工、借笔记、旅游出行等。
2.演讲内容 (四种):In general, the topics of TOEFL Lectures are divided into four major categories: 1)艺术类题材Arts, 2)生命科学类题材(生物学)Life Science(Biology), 3)自然科学类题材Physical Science, 4)社会科学类题材social Science.
