瑞典，当今世界上仅次于美国和英国，位居第3的音乐输出国。从上世纪七十年代风靡全球的“阿巴”(abba)旋风开始，瑞典的流行音乐产业得到了蓬勃的发展，现如今，瑞典首都斯德哥尔摩已经成为了欧洲乃至世界流行音乐的重镇。瑞典流行音乐已经不仅仅属于瑞典这个国家，它已经是全球流行音乐文化的重要组成部分，并且仍在以一种全身而动的活力不断地参与缔造流行音乐的世界奇迹。
瑞典“超男”Darin zanyar于1987年出生于斯德歌尔摩。2004年参加了瑞典“流行偶像大赛”并，因他出色的外型，很快受到一批青春美少女的追捧，尽管演唱了《B What U Wanna B 》，可惜并没有拿到冠军。但是Darin Zanyar的歌开始走红。除了《B What U Wanna B 》，《Sail The Ocean》（孙燕姿《心愿》的原版）也是非常受欢迎的。
在比赛结束后他就发行了自己的首张专辑 "The anthem" ，专辑很快便占据了很多排行榜的前几名，代表单曲"Money for nothing"。而且很快就拿到了当地排行榜的冠军。要知道，那时候他只有17岁，为了能够把精力更多地放在音乐上中途退学，然而，他也曾计划过要重新返回学校，因为他还是认为接受教育更重要些
